The book of Proverbs is a wonderful treasure trove full of insights, instruction, understanding, and wisdom. In this teaching, Cindy shares with us examples from her own life on how she has put those treasures into practice with her relationship with God, her students, her five children and her husband. She encourages us to dig deeper to see how we can glean from even the seemingly small surprises God gives us through the scriptures and apply them to every aspect of life. When we offer of ourselves, we take time to treat the others around us well, with value, love, and honor, and that is the key component of wisdom!
Welcome back to a new season at Magnolia Place!
This Winter Season is on the “Wisdom of the Proverbs.”
Starting with our first week, the discussions revolve around the topic of “Trust.” Trusting God to give us the right words to speak. Trusting that God is the source of provision. Trusting the Lord to give us discernment. And putting our trust in the God who is everlasting!
Join Pastor Margaret as she teaches on the importance of structuring our thoughts so our words reflect our Heavenly Father! Zoya will welcome us into her kitchen as she prepares Vinegret, a winter dish from her home country, and share what it means to be rooted in Jesus Christ! Dr. Deborah will then share on the different kinds of wisdom and how we need to rely upon our Lord’s wisdom to walk the path of righteousness. We’ll wrap up this edition with a time of worship, lead by Gillian Harper with the song Everlasting God!
Enjoy and be blessed today!
Though I may walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death I will fear no evil for thou art with me… – Psalm 23:4
Our God is The Everlasting God, and He is our salvation. In time of strength. In times of weakness. In times of hope. And in times of despair. He is there. In this time of worship, we pray that wherever you are, may this song remind you He is indeed your light and salvation and you have no need to fear, (Psalm 27:1).
Did you know there are different kinds of wisdom? In this segment Dr. Deborah shares on the differences between sensual wisdom and righteous wisdom. James 3 correlates with wisdom we find in Proverbs. Encouraging us to humbly submit our hearts and minds to the Heavenly Father, knowing He will guide us on the path of the right kind of wisdom.
Zoya welcomes us into her kitchen, sharing some thoughts on the importance of being rooted in Christ Jesus, as well as showing us how to make Vinegret…. A colorful, root-based, winter dish from Belarus, her home country. While delicious at any time, this dish is best served a few hours after preparation.
How can we structure our thoughts in order to speak life with our words? Backed by scripture and science Margaret shares with us the tools we can use to keep our thoughts in line with the truth of God’s Word.
Moses heard their case! These five sisters!
Their father had died in the wilderness, and had no sons, and they were going to be left out of his inheritance because they were daughters, and not sons.
But they got together in Numbers 27, and took their case to Moses, and Moses took it before God and asked God… and God said, Yes!
These five sisters known as the “Daughters of Zelophehad,” or The Daughters of the Inheritance,” not only received their rightful inheritance, and place in the lineage, but because of their request, policy was changed in Israel from then on, regarding a daughters inheritance!
This year, know that God doesn’t leave you out! He has your portion waiting for you! Believe God for all that is yours, and have the courage to ask. He hears you when you pray! And He will come to you with what is right and just!
