During the holiday season, feelings of loneliness and exclusion seem to bubble up much easier than normal. But if we look into the scriptures, Jesus tells us that we are chosen by Him! We are in God’s family and we are also His friend!
Join the Harper family, as they come together, in a time of worship, and thanksgiving to our God. You are welcome to join in song or just bask in the presence of the LORD!
Today, in Lerin’s kitchen. we will be visited by a very special guest, her mother. Sharing with us an apple crisp recipe from Lerin’s childhood, it will be sure to leave a lasting impression with your family as well. Made with apples picked from Carter Mountain Orchard, located in Northern Virginia, a crumbly cinnamon topping, and an extra burst of flavor from orange juice, this recipe is wonderful for a late afternoon treat, or after dinner, topped with caramel sauce and ice cream!
Dr. Deborah will be sharing a passage of scripture with us out of the Gospel of John, from chapter 15. She encourages us to be bold and grasp the understanding that Jesus has chosen us! And we can say yes to His calling and appointment!
Join our host, Dr. Deborah, as we bring you week 12, of our series, on the “Words of Jesus!” The Hyatte sisters will be sharing with us, a devotion, on the importance of knowing the scriptures, so that we might be able to overcome the temptation of the Devil! Jesus says, “It is written!”
For this week’s worship segment we have members of the Harper family blending their voices and instruments in harmony to bring the song, “Praise” in worship before the throne. We pray it is a blessing to you!
In the kitchen, Deborah prepares Hoagie Rolls, originally originated from Italian immigrant workers on Hog Island, in Philadelphia, with her granddaughter Viviana. These hearty sandwiches are filled with flavor and packed with deli meat, cheese, and sauce. Pop them open-face into the oven for a few minutes and they will be ready to go!
The Hyatte sisters bring us a devotional this week, on the words of Jesus, when He was tempted in the wilderness, by the devil. He said, “It is written!” The sisters will draw our attention to how we can follow Jesus’ example to resist the devil, by studying the scriptures, and speaking the truth of the Word, against the lies of the enemy, with the authority that Jesus has given to us!
Do you get to a point where the resources have run dry and you do not know where or who to turn to? Join our host, Dr. Deborah, as she discusses, in this edition, the power of trusting in Jesus when He says to “fill the pots with water” in our lives. When we do the natural, He does the supernatural!
