My Husband, Billy, loves to prepare and cook all kinds of meat. He came up with this tasty recipe for baking ribs rather than grilling them. Grilling is not the only option for ribs, you will be surprised how tender the baking process can make your ribs. Also, linked below is a cool recipe for making your own BBQ sauce to glaze them with. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- ½ cup Chile Powder
- ¼ cup White Sugar
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ cup Salt
- 2 tbsp Ground Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1 tsp Dry Mustard
- 1 tsp Chile Lime Seasoning
- 1 rack Baby Back Pork Ribs
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce – Make Your Own, Click Here for a Sweet & Spicy Recipe
Directions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- Mix chili powder, sugars, salt, pepper, cumin, cayenne, dry mustard, chili lime together in a bowl until combined.
- Special Step: turn the ribs meat side down and prick the back of the ribs with a knife.
- Apply a nice coat of dry rub to both sides of the ribs with your hands.
- Turn the ribs meat side down on the aluminum foil and wrap them tightly.
- Place them in the oven to cook through for about 2 hours. Remove them and let cool for 10 or 15 minutes.
- Increase the temperature of the oven up to 375 degrees.
- Open the aluminum foil and drain off the extra juices.
- Brush the ribs with a generous layer of BBQ sauce on both sides.
- Place the ribs back in the oven, meat side down and let them back for 10 minutes. Repeat this process 3 or 4 times to create a nice glazing of the BBQ sauce on the ribs.
- If you want to take it one more step, cut all the rack into individual ribs and turn them on their side and glaze them with the BBQ sauce and place back in the oven. This makes for a fully glazed rib and ready for the rib lovers enjoyment!.
