Opening with the scripture of John 17:21, Merle shares with us a spoken word on how we can give our hearts to God, without the fear of shame or rejection!
In this week’s Edition, we take a look at the Biblical figure of, Phoebe, in Romans 16, and examine how she was a trusted messenger to the early church. She is believed to have carried Paul’s letter to the church in Rome, and explained it to the early believers there!
We will hear from Trish Knox, as she tells us a little about Phoebe’s background and the tasks set before her!
We’ll join Lerin Gables in her kitchen, as she transforms what would be a time-consuming dish, into one that is quick and enjoyable-a Fajita Bake!
Merle Mills gives us a spoken word, reminding us that with every gift given to us we can, in thanksgiving, give it back to the Lord!
Dr. Deborah Harper will then share with us how to make gift-giving easy and enjoyable, eliminating the stress that typically goes along with it, during this busy season!
And, we’ll hear a teaching from Dr. Dana Cavallaro, on how the Apostle Paul, not only commended Phoebe, but how the Lord Jesus also commends us, to walk in the authority He has already given to us!
All this, here, on Magnolia Place!
Phoebe is mentioned in only two verses in the Bible, but the impact she had on the newly formed Christian Church has lasted for thousands of years. In this teaching, Trish Knox takes us into a little bit of Phoebe’s background and leaves us with a question. What message has God entrusted into our care, and are we dedicated to taking it where He sends us?
With God’s calling on you, it doesn’t matter whether you are male, or female, Jew or Gentile. Jesus commends us to walk in the authority He has given us, and He empowers those He has called. In this teaching, Dr. Dana Cavallaro teaches on Phoebe, and how she was a messenger and servant to the early Church, and treated with honor!
Trials of life turn to sweet aromas to God when we worship Him with thanksgiving. We pray that you are refreshed and reminded of God’s goodness through Merle’s spoken word of worship!
What do we miss when we hold back the things God has blessed us with instead of giving them back as a holy sacrifice to honor and worship him? Skye looks with us at the life of Hannah and how she, truly understanding the concept of God being the provider of all things, was able to give the child she had prayed years for back to him with selfless thanksgiving.
We just need to look at the creation around us to find examples God has placed for us to learn from. Some of the most beautiful things are formed under pressure- look at a diamond. Formed under intense heat, pressure, and time, diamonds are transformed from a lump of coal into a valuable treasure. When we surrender to the Lord, trusting His timing and process, our lives become fulfilled. Dr. Edith talks with us on Hannah, and how we can look at her life for an example of what it means to endure, and to give back, out of the blessings of God.
God calls us into uncomfortable, yet growing times in our lives, and we can trust Him through the process of each season. Join Bonnie as she leads us into worship, with the song, “Oceans.”
In week eight of our Women of the Bible Series, we discuss two women, Shiphrah and Puah, and the courage they had to stand for God’s law more than the law of the land. Join our host, Dr. Deborah Harper, as we hear a teaching from Trish Knox on the blessings we can receive if we follow God in obedience. And join Dr. Deborah in her kitchen as she prepares a simple yet creative recipe for chicken salad that is perfect for quick lunches. Bonnie Murdoch then leads us into worship this week with the song, “Come Thou Fount Come Thou King,” and we pray that you find a time of refreshing as we take the time to thank God for all the blessings He has poured out to us! Dr. Deborah will then share with us a useful way to repurpose tissue boxes to store plastic bags that tend to accumulate around the house. Then, Rachel Harper and Hannah Larum share a teaching on Shiphrah and Puah and the roles they played in the overarching plan God has always had for His people. And how we can have impact too, by fearing God and not man!
