My husband, Billy, was in the process of cooking two racks of baby back pork ribs and realized that we had everything to make the ribs except for a key ingredient, BBQ Sauce. When I mentioned that we could make our own, he took off to the web searching for a BBQ sauce recipe instead of taking off to the store. He found one on allrecipes.com and made a few modifications. It turned out great along with the ribs. It is a classic BBQ sauce with a lot of sweetness and spice. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups Brown Sugar
- 1 ½ cups Ketchup
- ½ cup Red Wine Vinegar
- 1 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 ½ tbsp Dry Mustard
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp of Cayenne Pepper
- 1 ½ tsp Black Pepper
- 3 or 4 dashes of Texas Pete
Directions
Place all ingredients into a blender and run for about 2 or 3 minutes.
For a smoother flavor of the sauce, place the sauce in a pan and cook on the stovetop on the lowest heat for about 5 to 8 minutes. Be careful not to make the heat too hot and burn your sauce. Stir it frequently to help blend the flavors of the spices together.
