Christmas is coming soon! It is my favorite holiday to celebrate. One things that really gets me into the holiday spirit, is by making my home smell like this joyful holiday!
To make my house smell like Christmas, I could simply light a candle with my favorite holiday scent, but, especially during the holidays, I love creating my own things. Christmas time is the perfect time for DIY (do-it-yourself) projects. To make my whole house smell like Christmas, I create stovetop potpourri. It is simple to create, and you can find most of the ingredients in the local grocery store!
Some popular potpourri ingredients are: dried oranges, dried apples, dried lemons, cranberries, star anise, allspice, cloves, pine, rosemary and cinnamon. Experiment with different recipes to create your favorite scents! I love to combine pine, rosemary and dried lemons to make my house smell like a Christmas tree. Just add your favorite ingredients to simmering water and enjoy the sweet aromas from your kitchen.
