Creamy Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo

When searching for comfort food, the obvious first destination is: Mom’s house. Thank you, Tracy Savage for this quick and delicious recipe for a classic alfredo dinner.

Ingredients For Alfredo Saucee

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 large clove of garlic crushed
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour 
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup dry Parmesan cheese
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions For Sauce

  • Melt butter in pan. Medium Heat
  • Add crushed garlic and saute until fragrant. 
  • Sprinkle flour, whisk, and slowly add heavy whipping cream. Keep whisking constantly. 
  • Whisk in sour cream, parmesan cheeses, salt, and pepper. Lower heat.
  • Keep cooking on medium-low heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring often. (Do not let it boil.)

Instructions for Chicken

 
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil.
  • Add chicken and season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook until golden and cooked through, 8 minutes per side.
  • Let rest 10 minutes, then slice. 

Instructions for Shrimp

  • In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon butter until melted.
  • Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper and cook until pink and completely opaque; 2 to 3 minutes per side.
  • Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
