Having just celebrated Christmas, we can know and understand the promise that was given to the prophet Isaiah when God spoke to him that God himself would give a sign that the Son of God would come into the world to dwell among mankind, (Isaiah 7:14; 8:8).
Although Jesus lived first on earth and then ascended to the Father, the Almighty God, in heaven, He made away that His presence could be sent to us through the infilling of the Holy Spirit which was given at Pentecost, 50 days after the resurrection, (Acts 2:1-4).
Now, it can be the reality of our lives that the presence of the living God, dwells with us, just as it was said; that the Christ would come to the world to save people from their sins and that His Name would be called, Emmanuel, meaning God with us, (Matthew 1:23).
Not only does God’s presence move and work on the earth all around us, but the Christ who arose, also dwells within us! We who believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is the Son of God, and that God has raised Him from the dead, unto life again, can have that same power of God living within us! And that’s something to celebrate, because that changes everything!
