I have always found that the more genuinely engaged I am with people, the more fun there is to share in, all the way around!

Building friendships is a natural part of life, but sometimes when we have experienced betrayals or false friends, it can require a regrouping and a rebuilding process.

I want to highlight three things here that can help to build more quality relationships.

Be Yourself!

First, just be yourself! There is just only one you! And nobody can do it like you can. Accept who you are, where you’ve come from, and all the stuff that makes you who you are. Don’t try to be someone else. If you do, who’s going to be you? Of course, this means allowing the other person to be themselves as well! We must learn to value each person as unique and special, and not put our filter on them, or compare them to our standards.

Be an Overcomer!

Unless you want to build an unhealthy dependency on others, establishment your main goal as overcoming any obstacle or adversity that might come your way. When you do this, you will be a life-giver, and a game changer! You can’t afford to allow yourself to be drained by unnecessary angst! Determine to make the best of every situation! Find the good! Make lemonade out of lemons! Take things in stride! Have an attitude of gratitude! And most importantly, recognize that God has the bigger picture in mind!

Be Friendly!

When you start with a smile and genuine good-will, anything is possible. Be peaceable! And find ways to be agreeable! When you start by being kind, other people will know you’re real. When you see the good in other people, and yourself, you have no reason to be unpleasant. When you look at people for how you can bless them, uplift them, or benefit them in a positive way, rather than what you can get out of them, or from them, then your perspective with be right, your integrity will be upstanding, and the results will be overwhelmingly positive!

Remember that Proverbs 18:24a (NKJV)says, “A man who has friends must himself be friendly.”

Have fun! And enjoy being friendly!
